First time at Kitchen Cow and wondering where to start?
Visit the Reader's Favorites List for a quick rundown of everyone's favorite bento posts.

site update

No bento or food related update today. But I’d like to inform regular visitors of a few changes I’ve made.

  • Kitchen Cow migration is more than halfway done. Only 70 posts ported from the kitchencow @ livejournal page left to reformat. Crossing my fingers I can update and tag everything before June ends, so I can move on to other—projects. *big grin*
  • Removed the archives from the sidebar and gave it its own page. Thanks to a handy dandy plug-in from Geek With Laptop, it’s easier to navigate because the titles from each month’s entries slide out. Of course, there’s always the search function for more specific searches.
  • Updated a few static pages, and streamlined my categories. I’ve rewritten the site information, a backgrounder on bento, plus a few more informative tidbits. I’ve also included a contact form so if you’d like to discuss something in private, please feel free to use it.
  • Finally, just wanted to point out (especially since I made a customized RSS feed chicklet, heehee) that Kitchen Cow has a feedburner powered feed. Just click on the subscribe button on the sidebar then choose your preferred RSS feed aggregator. No more missed entries, as feedburner collects excerpts and the front page photos from every entry, as it comes out.

Feedback? Requests? Suggestions? Want to know the name of the cow on the site banner? Leave me a note, whether through this post, or via the contact form. I’ll look forward to hearing form you.

Hello there.

I’m glad my plugin is helping you kick it up a notch with your kitchen and cooking blog :)

Thank you for the mention and use of my clean archives plugin.

If you ever need any help, let me know. Thanks again.

Thanks Sean! I love how your plug-in works, that’s why I felt the need to mention it. Initially I was simply looking for a way to hide my archive months on the sidebar but after seeing yours in action, I decided it was a better and more efficient way to keep track of old entries.

Thanks so much for your coding efforts. I’m sure it’s greatly appreciated among the Wordpress community.

Thanks! I have to admit I was apprehensive about moving from livejournal to my own domain but now that it’s finally happening, I’ve never felt so fulfilled since I started bento blogging. Glad you enjoyed the bento. Maybe you can try it out sometime?
