Searching for inspiration for bento creation? Looking for new food ideas to include in your packed lunches? Thumb through a copy of 501 Bento Box Lunches and find inspiration and ideas galore! Each page is filled with loads and loads—OKAY I GIVE UP! I need to fangirl!
A week has passed since I got my copy of 501 Bento Box Lunches and I’m still ecstatic about it. Why? Because–Yay! I can finally say it in public, some of my bento and packed lunches are there! Taking a little over a year in the making, this handy, little compilation is a long awaited (well, for me at least
) bento photo book that compiles the work of hundreds of bento from creators all over the world, including one of my personal favorites, Japanese bento creator luckysundae. It opens with a brief, instructional primer by artsy bento expert Amorette Dye and is followed by loads of bento that fall under different categories.
And to spread the joy and love, I’ll be giving away a copy of the book to a lucky Kitchen Cow reader! Giveaway is open to everyone: US winners will receive a gift copy from amazon.com while winners from elsewhere will receive a copy from me (expect this to take longer because I need to go out of my way to the post office, sorry!)
Anyway, how to win? Leave a comment on this post. That’s it. One comment per person only. Well, you can comment more if you have things to say but only one entry will be counted towards you. Deadline for commenting is August 5, 2009. 11:59 PM, Manila time (+8 GMT). Waiting to hear from you guys!

To be honest I am not really familiar with the bento book even if I am a book collector. I would like to have one though. I am not really a cooking wife material so I want to know what food recipes I can get from the book so I can prepare it for my partner when he goes to work. I don’t know things from the kitchen but I would be willing to learn in case I will have a chance and will ahve the right tools for it. Hope I will win the book. =)

Excellent idea! I have always thought that packed lunches are unattractive and “baduy” to bring in the office. But with the Bento Box concept, I’ll probably have the greatest packed lunch feasts starting tomorrow. Thanks for this post! Great blog.
i wonder if this book will show me how pack lunches that neat. : )
Congratulations! Share the love <3
Wow! This is so exciting!!! Congratulations, that book would be super useful to someone like me who is useless in the kitchen and whose son is practically begging to be a lunchbox boy instead of a canteen boy.
Wow that sounds great…I’ve been on the lookout for this kind to improve my expertise in the kitchen for the whole family. I wish it would come to me as a surprise one fine day…Thanks!
i want the book! please be mine!
My family love everything that is Japanese: anime, Ghibli, yukata and especially the food! There is a Japanese depot out here where we got our bento boxes. So far, we have not made any Bento lunches yet because I don’t know how to make one. This is even the first time I have heard that you can make 501 Bento creations. I would really enjoy doing that for my husband. I can just imagine 501 days of happy lunches for him at work. And every lunchtime he will be surprised to see a new kitchen work of art.
Wow! i would really like to try out one to make one of those cute dishes. I stumbled upon one of those sites that sells sandwich press to make shaped goodies.. so cute..

I just saw a preview of the book on Amazon.com, and from what I saw, I think that 501 Bento Box Lunches is amazing and I would love to have a copy. Might come in handy when I decide to cook Japanese.
not only is your blog a feast to the eyes, it is very informative as well. bento making is surely the ‘in’ for a healthy life.
Wow, there are some many entries on here now…hehe ^^
I like the recipes on here a lot because they’re easy to make. I’m new to making bento lunches and I showed a few of them to my boyfriend (the person I’ll be making lunches for) and he found a lot of them yummy sounding. =D
Omg, I would love to see all of the cute little bento ideas!
Sounds like a really good way to make packed lunches entertaining!
I hope to win. ^.^ Thanks again
My husband lived in Japan for 2 years and he always like the way they cook their food and how creative they are with their bento. And I think “501 Bento Box Lunches” can help me make him remember the time when he was there. Thanks you very much.
hi! i have no bento experience nor do i have bento stuff but i have recently been surfing the net for ideas in what to pack for my hubby when he works and bento is definitely something i want to try. pick me and i will definitely put it to good use =).
Halu… I came across your blog while looking at creative office lunch preparation ideas. Everything’s soooo cute and appetizing. As a new wife, I find it challenging to create healthy, delicious and aethestically pleasing lunch boxes for my hubby…. Tried one pseudo bento recently – menudillo, gallo de pinto (hubby with latin american roots) and green salad. Have bookmarked your blog to get more ideas… Your book offer would definitely sweeten the deal and inspire me more…!!! Pick me pick me..
Gracias!
Not sure if I’ve commented here before, but I would love to have that book! Congrats! *_*
