Have you seen the June 2011 issue of Yummy Magazine? If you have, you’ll know a secret I’ve been dying to share! I put together a bento for YUMMY! It was so difficult to not share the news, especially after the shoot, but I didn’t want to jinx it. But now that it’s out, I guess I can fangirl all I want.
Liz from Yummy’s editorial team shot me an email a couple of weeks ago, asking if I can demonstrate putting together a bento-style packed lunch for Yummy’s Back-to-School issue. Admittedly, I found the idea challenging. I’m used to preparing bento just for myself. Even the ones in the 501 Bento Lunches Cookbook and K-Zone magazine was old work. This was the first time I put something together for a specific purpose.
Working with writer Cara and photographer Patrick on the day of the shoot was an engrossing affair. And seeing the finished product finally published is so gratifying. Yay! This issue is full of packed lunch recipe ideas so it’s a useful addition to your lunch box arsenal. Grab a copy now while it’s available in newsstands!
