Chicken Teriyaki Bento: A Study in Speed

One reaction I get a lot when people find out that I prepare bento on a regular basis is, “Wow. That must take ages.” People seem to think, “It’s a full meal, it must take hours to cook.” The fact is, if you’re prepared, packing a complete, attractive and satisfying lunch can be done in half an hour, tops.

Creole Seasoned Chicken and Potatoes in a Bento

Chicken fillets are always a handy thing to have. They’re very quick to cook, adaptable to a variety of recipes and is relatively healthy. One quick way I like is simply dusting with creole seasoning, then giving it a quick pangrill in butter.

Alien Bento, “I come in Peace!”

I come in peace! That’s what the little traveling egg seems to say, I think. Crossing over a river of rice to get to the hotdog forests, I think he simply means to make friends. I might be mistaken that the little alien’s a she though, the little green antenna could be hair buns, you think?
