WOFEX 2010: The Ultimate Food Show Experience comes in August

Friday, June 4th, 2010

The World Food Expo or WOFEX is all set to conquer 2010 and make its mark as the biggest and grandest food event for the year. A much awaited annual food exhibit, WOFEX brings together all the segments of the food and beverage industry to help them discover new products and trends and find solutions to existing needs.

WOFEX

Aside from the usual food exhibits, a variety of events will also be held to showcase the offerings of today’s food industry. There’s the Taste Expo, Baker’s Fair, Food Mach Expo and the World Food Summit. These are mostly culinary competitions and demonstrations displaying the culinary artistry of the industry’s best and up-and-coming talents. Highlighting the WOFEX will be the 1st Philippine Culinary Cup, an exciting and prestigious culinary competition where the country’s best will pit their kitchen skills against each other.

So, be sure to mark August 4-7 on your calendars because on those days, all roads will lead to the World Trade Center and SMX Convention center for The Ultimate Food Show Experience—WOFEX 2010.

A Very Yummy Evening at Tosca, Dusit Thani

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Fairly recently, I was lucky enough to be invited to a small Christmas gathering arranged by local food magazine Yummy. I was quite excited about it for two reasons. I was seated with Managing Editor Paulyn Chang-Afable and a few other blogger friends. We were having an animated conversation about our day jobs, blogging and food, but it all came to a halt as they brought out the soup course. An innocuous looking potato soup served with a dollop of sour cream and a sprig tarragon, we were all blown away as we dug in and unearthed generous chunks of very flavorful lemon-grilled shrimp. The shrimp totally made the soup and we were all hankering for more afterwards. In fact, it became the evening’s mantra, “I want more soup!”

“Rat parts” found in Tomato Sauce

Friday, February 20th, 2009

One personal policy I have on Kitchen Cow is keeping things upbeat and positive. There’s already so much depressing news happening all over the world so I like keeping this blog a happy place where you can get your food fix. Still, this issue bothers me so much. I honestly still have mixed feelings about it. If you’re squeamish or eating food right now, please stop reading because this news is disgusting.
